Our mouth consumes varied foods through out the day, and you need to clean to avoid cavity attracted due to such food consumption. You brush your teeth every morning after getting up from sleep, but is it enough for your teeth?

When you sleep without brushing, the accumulated dirts (plaques) start to calcify and harden your teeth. And it gets worse with time because the calcified plaque is impossible to remove with brush or floss.

The plaque build-up can lead to bad breath, gum infection, gum bleeding and swollen gums.

Why brushing at night is more important

Actually, during the entire day, the foods you eat leave certain particles and debris on your teeth that feed bacteria. And if you do not brush your teeth before sleeping, you allow the plaque to grow and mature at faster speed overnight.

However, our saliva in mouth act as natural defense as it neutralizes the acid level in your mouth that wases away food. But in sleep saliva production decrease at the night allowing plaque to generate bacteria attacking your tooth enamel. So, its necessary to remove them before sleep.

Here are three reasons why you shouldn’t joke with brushing your teeth at night

1. Reduce the Build Up of Acid Level

Your mouth consistently build-up acid but saliva keep neutralizing the acid with presence of calcium. However, during the night time, as the saliva production is low, the acid level increases allowing bacteria to start eating your teeth.

Your mouth is constantly building acid. The saliva in the mouth neutralises the acid with the calcium present in it. But during nighttime, since the saliva production is low, the acids gets accumulated. By brushing your teeth at night, you ensure that saliva secretion does not fall by the fluoride present in the toothpaste

2. Reduce the Growth of Bacteria

The saliva reduces the bacteria from multiplying. Thus, keeping your saliva secretion maintained by brushing before bed is very important

3. Bring Down Food Particles Decay

The tiny food particles get stuck in your mouth rot overnight. It is best to hit the bed with a clean mouth to prevent decayed food particles playing foul in your mouth.

Always remember this: Brush in the morning to keep your friends, Brush at night to keep your teeth. They are both important, to keep them, brush your teeth in the morning and NEVER joke with brushing at night.
